Viagra and erectile dysfunction

Viagra targets a specific physiological question, erectile dysfunction, by improving blood stream to the penis. The trouble with creating a form for women is that female arousal is reflection to be more complex, involving psychological as well as physical aspects.

Affective Brains claims to have resolved this difficulty. Animal investigation has identified two chemicals as key to reproductive crave: testosterone, which fuels dopamine, the “lust” chemical, and serotonin, which gives a faculty of well-being. The theory is that if the balance of the two is mistaken, the result can be deprivation of libido. The latest research, carried out in South Korea, implicated more than 100 men who had been diagnosed with erection problems.Enervation affects one in 10 men in the UK at some point in their lives. Although drugs such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra have revolutionized treatment in the last 10 years, around 30 per cent of men who take them see no improvement.

While herbal remedies like ginseng have been touted as another treatments, the verification to support their use has been lacking.  Ginseng is a herb that has been used for thousands of years to prop up overall condition. The foundation contains several dynamic substances, called either ginsenosides or panaxosides, that are thought to be answerable for the therapeutic effects of the herb. Scientists at the Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea, recruited 119 men with peaceful to temperate erectile dysfunction.
The group was split into two and while half took four tablets a day containing extracts of Korean ginseng berry, the rest took identical mannequin pills. After eight weeks, researchers measured improvements by using a recognized range called the International Index of Erectile Dysfunction. The results, published in the International Magazine of Sterility Research, showed a small but significant improvement in reproductive function in the ginseng group compared to those on the model tablets. In a report on their findings the researchers said: "Korean ginseng berry develop improved all domains of reproductive function."
